Riding the tide of social media

According to an OfficialWire article dated 10 January 2010, it pointed out that “2009 was about the exploration of social media,” and that 2010 is the right time to put our heads and hands to it. With the likes of Twitter and Facebook taking the spotlight by storm in 2009, it is not surprising for people and businesses to swarm in on the web, create their own profiles, and start engaging with the world.

In like manner, the D.M. Consunji Technical Training Center (DMCTTC) makes use of the social media as its information leverage and platform to disseminate, listen and converse with its clients, viewers and community. As its tool, DMCTTC hopes to spread the word to everyone about its services, training schedules, advocacies and activities. And, to complete all that, to go with the preaching of social media: accessibility and interaction.

But how is it possible that the media we all know can become a vehicle by which we can mutually talk with the company, express our views, pool opinions and insights, even having the voice to air our concerns and complaints, and by which it becomes a hub for people to discuss around a certain brand, product or service?
